All my one-of-a-kind clay wall pieces are organic in form and not flat.  First I roll out the clay slab,  then I incise the drawing into the clay surface.  After it’s dried a while, I press the clay from behind to push out certain areas,  like the flower petals, birds and sun, and give it dimension and a more organic feeling.  They are kiln fired and then hand painted with underglazes and oxides and finally fired in the kiln a second time.  They look great separate or grouped together.  These are photos of them in my home to show some scale and how they look on the wall.
