Yes, this is Birdie, my little bird girl. Why do I love birds and faces so much. This little sculpture is so sweet and it brightens my spirit everytime I look at it. Birdi is hand-built with clay, incised with drawings, kiln fired, hand painted with underglazes and oxides and finally fired in the kiln a second time. Finished with steel legs that are set in a concrete base for stability. It takes a long time to make something special and that’s what I feel I’m doing.
